Samsung C&T to build a hydrogen plant in Australia together with Infinite Green Energy

South Korea’s Samsung C&T signed an agreement with Australian company Infinite Green Energy to build a hydrogen production plant in Australia jointly.

The hydrogen production plant, called “MEG HP1 Early Production System”, is expected to produce over 4 tons of hydrogen per day using a 10-MW electrolyzer. The hydrogen produced from MEG HP1 Early Production System will be used for the local transport market. To power the new facilities, Infinite Green Energy completed the acquisition of 11 MW Northam Solar Farm.

In December 2022, Infinite Green Energy selected French company Technip Energies to carry out Front-End Engineering Design, and the plant is expected to begin hydrogen production in 2024.
